Hi Guys!
So nearing the end of my first week in uganda. writing to you from a small internet cafe off Entebbe road. I have pictures but am unable to upload them yet sorry! I have moved in with Florence the Physio and founder of Mukisa. I have had two days working there and it is fantastic! Slowly picking up bits and pieces of the language but people are more than willing to help me out with it. Sunday I was at University Community Fellowship (UCF) a large church based in one of the local universities. I enjoyed my first experience of an African Church. I met up with some other AIM'ers 3 girls from the USA. Tomorrow were heading down to one of the lakes outside Mbarara one of the towns near(ish) to Kampala for the easter weekend. will report again soon
haven't long left! pray that God will really use me this week as i get to know kids and mums.
Thanks!

Friday 15th April
Hey!
So this is my blog for the next 8 weeks when I'll be in Uganda working with African Inland Mission (AIM) as a physiotherapist with the Mukisa Foundation. Mukisa is a day centre that is run for children with Motor Impairments and their Families. The Kids get physio and schooling and the parents get to help out with therapy but also have English lessons themselves too.
I have a full day of flying tomorrow starting at 06.05 with my first flight Edinburgh to Amsterdam then onto Nairobi before touching down in Uganda at 23.20. There I will hopefully be reunited with my luggage, get a visa and meet the driver who will take me to the guesthouse where I'll be staying the night. I'll be orientated on Monday and then will be moving into my new accommodation for the 8 weeks I'll be at Mukisa.
For now if you could pray for:
Blessings

- Safe travel
- that I'll make all my connections
- Luggage (that it will arrive in Uganda at the same time as I do!)
- Visa
- safe travel within the country
- the children, families and staff that I'll be working with at Mukisa.
- settling into the climate and lifestyle
